#ENDSARS & POLICE BRUTALITY
In relation to #Endsars movement in Nigeria, we identified a number of factors which led to a tension between the government and the youths of the country.
The Special anti-robbery squad (SARS) have been directly responsible for the consistent harassment and death of innocent youths all over Nigeria which has led to protest of Nigerians all over the world demanding for the complete abolishment of the police unit. Simply, the #EndSars movement is a result of the country’s underlying issues of corruption, poor governance and class inequality.
Police brutality in Nigeria is sustained by whoever pays the policing forces- therefore the police are the hand of the elite political class. To add, government-sponsored local media houses refused to report on the protests, resulting in civilians resorting to social media to bring about global awareness of the atrocities.

Sacred Land & Storytelling
The initial test site for the altar is located in Amhadu Bello University Farm. The ancient city located in Northern Nigeria is steeped in the Sufi Islamic tradition. The aim of the proposal is to create a space for communion with nature through rituals that support the reforestation of the Sahel Region. Desertification of the Sahel affects many urban centres in the region with migration, insurgency, crop failure and food insecurity etc.
As part of the storytelling exercise, I created a detailed reference map of my Lab B Materials project and the focus on world-building, animation and climate. This Miro diagram carefully details all the project references for the artisanal paper research project and provided the platform for world-building and storyboarding the fictional future society. This evolved into a collaborative, speculative fiction with Jake Stephenson-Bartley, a fellow MArch Student at CSM. The diagram is structured around the 'Realms of Power' in conjunction with a condensed timeline. The original template was provided by Faber Futures under the tutelage of Natsai Audrey Chieza.
